Gotan Lunático

Gotan Project's new CD "Lunático" (named after Carlos Gardel's horse) will be released in the U.S. on April 11, 2006. This is actually only the second CD produced by the whole group since "Revancha del Tango" (2001). "Inspiracion Espiracion," an in-between album was a DJ mix album of new tracks and remixes by Phillippe Cohen Solal released under the band's name in 2004.

This album truly is great. It has been on constant album-repeat here and I am still loving it -- much more than "La Revancha".

Hi Dekay.

I agree. I recently played this album at some at tango dances - "Notas" and "Lunático" seem to be the most successful for dancing to.

Well, "Notas" and "Lunatico" are both very quick, milonga-like songs ("Diferente" also has a very driving beat). I do prefer the likes of "Tango Cancion", "Amor Porteño" or "Celos"; but also fun (because of their odd beats) are "La Viguela" and "Mi confesion".
